A Little Christmas Joy

How do I define Christmas joy? If you would have asked me at the beginning of December, I probably would have had a completely different response. It's strange what curve balls life throws at you–and let me tell you, 2018 has tossed PLENTY my way–but I'm truly thankful for the season and the point I'm at in life. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year because it's the one time of year where you truly put everything aside to spend time with the people you care about most. My family isn't just composed of blood relatives though. It's the people who I have come into my life and continue to make everything around me shine each day. These people are a major bright spot to every situation, and have truly become family in so many ways.

Sometimes you just have a blip of time where you're awkwardly stumbling around life, and other times you and your best friend dress up and spend the day together just hanging out, eating and exchanging Christmas gifts–which is exactly how Kacie and I spent this day. It was so needed and SO much fun to get out of our normal routines and just hang out! We see each other every day because we also happen to be co-workers on the same team, but we're both always on the move and just a day to ourselves was a majorly fun change of pace.

As everyone gears up for the holidays, I wanted to share a little outfit inspo for your upcoming parties and events! People tend to opt for dresses during the holidays, but this little black jumpsuit totally stole my heart when I saw it at Elysian & Co. The pleating and structure top totally set off the cinched waist and wide leg pants. Serious love over here! Double bonus, no need for tights–which is a major win for this girl! To dress it up further, you could throw on a cute sequin blazer or furry jacket for extra style. Sadly, this jumpsuit has since sold out, but I've linked some super affordable options below from Express.

Happy holidays to you and yours and may your Christmas and New Year's be filled with joy!
