Pattern Pop

If jeans are an option, they are my go-to at all times. I'm lucky enough to have a job that considers my wide array of jeans as acceptable work wear. So imagine my shock when I was drawn to these striped pants from Anthropologie during a recent shopping trip with my mom and sister. Don't get me wrong, I love clothing in general, but I typically stick with safer options that I can wear more frequently. Let's just say, you can't wear these striped pants on the regular–or can you?

Does anyone else just grab a bunch of stuff that may or may not work, load a dressing room full of options and try stuff on? In the past, trying clothing on was a nightmare to me. The lighting and the mirrors in most stores literally make me feel want to exit this skin suit and opt for a better body, but lately, I've found myself branching out and trying styles just to see if they work on me. With more of an hourglass shape, I know what shapes tend to work, but trying new styles is always fun–AND sometimes I surprise myself with items that I thought would be terrible on me. These striped pants were a big example of something I thought would be awful. With a curvier shape, I thought the stripes would be a disaster. However, it turns out the moment I put them on, I fell in love. They have the perfect amount of stretch and I was able to actually size down. Winning! Definitely give these dress pants a shot though. They have a bunch of different colors and patterns available to suit people who aren't that into the stripe life.

Side note: these cheery Madewell stacked heels are giving me life right now. SO comfortable and literally the perfect red-orange for summer!
