Home Sweet Home

We’re fashion bloggers, but style is style so it’s a no-brainer that personal style transfers over to the home. After perusing the ideas that Havenly.com, an online interior design company, had on their site, we wanted to share some of our favorite pieces. We were thrilled to jump at the chance to expand our lifestyle section and hopefully give some inspiration to our readers for decorating their own spaces. Take a peek into our homes and tell us what your favorite pieces are or if you have any decorating advice- we'd love to hear it!

Jaime's Neutral Nest

When we built our house last year, I knew I wanted to have neutral grey walls and pops of color accented throughout the house. What I ended up with was about 10 different shades of grey and a lot of room for decor. I'm still in the process of perfecting my built-ins, but one of the things I love most are some of the pieces I've collected along the way. For Christmas, my husband purchased two Alice in Wonderland books for me–and I couldn't have been more excited! I've loved the imagery and whimsy associated with these books for years, and they've become two of my favorite pieces of "decor" if you will. Imagine my excitement when I found these plaster antlers at Target that are the perfect companion for these books.

We'd be here all day if I was listing out my favorites, but two additional faves of mine are the flamingo panting my best friend made for me and the Queen of Hearts art that sits directly below it. To say my best friend is talented is an understatement. I posted an image on my Instagram page and she brought it to life for my birthday as a surprise–and it's definitely showpiece worthy! As for the Queen of Hearts art, that was purchased at a local art fair long ago. I love the simplicity of the piece and didn't even realize how perfectly it fit until today. Odd right?

I'm a complete nerd when it comes to reading–I mean, my Harry Potter books have a shelf of their own. Need I say more?

All in all, I still have A LOT of work to do when it comes to decorating our house, but I'm having fun pulling pieces together and seeing how everything just seems to fit and feel like home.

Kacie's Colorful Casa

As an introvert, my home is the one place where I can relax and truly be myself. To carry that theme throughout my cute little townhome, I had a large print made with the word 'querencia', which in so many words means, "the place where you feel most like yourself". What more could you want in a home? This print is the focal point of the main living area and the first thing you see when come from upstairs or downstairs.

When I moved in earlier this year, I was so excited to have a blank canvas to make my own. I wanted to be surrounded with things that felt like "me" and displayed my eclectic personality. Everywhere you look is a mix of shiny metallics, bright colors and fun sayings. Candles, apothecary jars, pineapples and floral arrangements make up the bulk of my living room decor while my kitchen brings even more kitschy fun with donut-clad kitchen towels, a donut cookie jar and my favorite "Central Perk" FRIENDS mug turned succulent planter. Other faves not featured are my over-cabinet letterboard that currently says, "Love you to the fridge and back" and a silver pineapple lamp.

Now after six months, it's time to tackle my bedroom, which currently has no decor whatsoever, ha! Let's face it, the bedroom is for sleeping; most of the time spent in their is with my eyes closed...or at least that's how I'm currently justifying my lack of decor. :)
