Wake Up & Makeup with Meijer

If you're like us, you're just getting in your makeup groove and have perfected your makeup routine for summer–then fall hits and totally sends you into a tailspin. Just when you've got your skin under control with the right skincare/makeup routine, it's time to switch things up and opt for hydrating creams and swap powder matte foundation for a liquid full coverage look. This may be a super frustrating time for some people, but luckily we love trying out new products and creating a list of new favorites as the season changes. Let's not kid ourselves, we still have staples that are constant, year-round, and thankfully the Meijer beauty section keeps our cabinets fully stocked for all occasions. Check out what products we're using to transition from summer to fall–and head to Meijer to take advantage of their Fall Beauty Week!

Bye Bye, Bae Bae

This year, Summer was my bae. But now it's Fall and I'm not quite ready to say bye-bye to my shorts and tanks. Why? Because it's been in the 80s the last two weeks and for some odd reason, I'm just not feelin' the sweaters yet. Maybe because I'm not interested in risking a heat stroke for an Instagram photo. :)

White After Labor Day

The answer to your question is–YES, you can in fact wear white after Labor Day! I’m a habitual rule follower in life, but when it comes to rules of fashion, there are only a few I follow–and refraining from wearing white after Labor Day is definitely one rule that has gone by the wayside. Thank god because I don’t know what I would do all winter long without white skinnies in my life.

Home Sweet Home

We’re fashion bloggers, but style is style so it’s a no-brainer that personal style transfers over to the home. After perusing the ideas that, an online interior design company, had on their site, we wanted to share some of our favorite pieces. We were thrilled to jump at the chance to expand our lifestyle section and hopefully give some inspiration to our readers for decorating their own spaces. Take a peek into our homes and tell us what your favorite pieces are or if you have any decorating advice- we'd love to hear it!

Jaime's Neutral Nest

When we built our house last year, I knew I wanted to have neutral grey walls and pops of color accented throughout the house. What I ended up with was about 10 different shades of grey and a lot of room for decor. I'm still in the process of perfecting my built-ins, but one of the things I love most are some of the pieces I've collected along the way. For Christmas, my husband purchased two Alice in Wonderland books for me–and I couldn't have been more excited! I've loved the imagery and whimsy associated with these books for years, and they've become two of my favorite pieces of "decor" if you will. Imagine my excitement when I found these plaster antlers at Target that are the perfect companion for these books.

We'd be here all day if I was listing out my favorites, but two additional faves of mine are the flamingo panting my best friend made for me and the Queen of Hearts art that sits directly below it. To say my best friend is talented is an understatement. I posted an image on my Instagram page and she brought it to life for my birthday as a surprise–and it's definitely showpiece worthy! As for the Queen of Hearts art, that was purchased at a local art fair long ago. I love the simplicity of the piece and didn't even realize how perfectly it fit until today. Odd right?

I'm a complete nerd when it comes to reading–I mean, my Harry Potter books have a shelf of their own. Need I say more?

All in all, I still have A LOT of work to do when it comes to decorating our house, but I'm having fun pulling pieces together and seeing how everything just seems to fit and feel like home.

Kacie's Colorful Casa

As an introvert, my home is the one place where I can relax and truly be myself. To carry that theme throughout my cute little townhome, I had a large print made with the word 'querencia', which in so many words means, "the place where you feel most like yourself". What more could you want in a home? This print is the focal point of the main living area and the first thing you see when come from upstairs or downstairs.

When I moved in earlier this year, I was so excited to have a blank canvas to make my own. I wanted to be surrounded with things that felt like "me" and displayed my eclectic personality. Everywhere you look is a mix of shiny metallics, bright colors and fun sayings. Candles, apothecary jars, pineapples and floral arrangements make up the bulk of my living room decor while my kitchen brings even more kitschy fun with donut-clad kitchen towels, a donut cookie jar and my favorite "Central Perk" FRIENDS mug turned succulent planter. Other faves not featured are my over-cabinet letterboard that currently says, "Love you to the fridge and back" and a silver pineapple lamp.

Now after six months, it's time to tackle my bedroom, which currently has no decor whatsoever, ha! Let's face it, the bedroom is for sleeping; most of the time spent in their is with my eyes closed...or at least that's how I'm currently justifying my lack of decor. :)

Orange Heat

Friday was the first day of Fall. It was also 91 degrees.

To celebrate the arrival of my favorite season, I did my best to  incorporate some "Fall" into my style and the best I could do in the humid, disgusting heat was this burnt orange top and booties. Effort is my thing. Clearly.

Head to Toe Bows

Is 2017 over yet? I’m just curious because this year has been a major downer for several reasons–most recently being the Hurricane ravaging the USVI. So here's a little back story, along with my cute bow outfit…

Summertime Sadness

I used to not be the biggest fan of summer. I mean, it really hasn't been that cool since I was in high school and didn't have a job. Remember the days when you could stay up late, sleep late and do whatever you wanted, every single day for two months? Yeah, I barely do either. But this summer has actually been pretty great which makes me sad for it to end. But, I also see the positive side: Fall is my favorite season, so it has to be just as great, if not better!

Enough about me, onto this end-of-summer look (and yes, I know there's technically still like an entire month left before the season changes, ha!).

Makeup Transformation: From Jaime to Taylor

Normally I'd say my makeup abilities are pretty strong, but when you compare my skills to my sisters–I quickly head to amateur status. From covering up skin concerns to a beautifully sculpted contour and stunning eye, she definitely is my go-to when it comes to beauty tips and tricks. I had literally just stepped on a plane after a work trip when she pitched her video idea to me, and I was immediately all in. Unshowered and not a stitch of makeup on my face, I headed to her apartment to film this video and die laughing the process.

Rosy Outlook

It's been a weird summer, plain and simple. It's been hot, humid, rainy, cold and all of things wrapped up into one IN ONE DAY. Needless to say when I snagged this top earlier this summer, I thought I wouldn't have a chance to wear it until fall. Yes, it's lightweight, and yes, it's flowy, but if you've ever tried to wear long sleeves on a humid day, then I'm sure you understand my hesitation. No one has time for that.

Summer Perfection

This summer has blown by and with the hustle and bustle, I feel like sharing my summer style has fallen to the wayside. In fact, I know it has, sorry! (Who am I kidding, no one really cares, ha!) But, I'm back in blogging action today with my latest SheIn find and it is pure summer perfection.

Bright Whites

For some reason I'm laughing right now with this title, "Bright Whites," because all I can think about is Barry Kripke, the character Big Bang Theory with the speech impediment. I have no idea how that popped into my head, but you're welcome for my brief sidebar.

Summer Stripes & Bows with SheIn

Remember that one post I did not too long ago where I confessed my undying love for all things striped? Yeah, I told you that you would be seeing another striped top momentarily. When I received this striped top from SheIn, I quickly unwrapped it and immediately added it to the collection of blue and white stripes tops in my closet. Let's just say it felt right at home.

Summer Style with SheIn

I've always viewed style as an expression of your personality but if you want to get really granular, you might view it as an expression of your mood, which tends to be much more fluid. Reversely, a good outfit has the power to alter your mood, hopefully for the better. Whoa, getting a little deep there, eh? Let me tone it down by saying something like, "I mean, how could you not be happy wearing an outfit like this?" There. I feel better now.

If you follow our blog, or my Instagram, you know I love edgy looks. In fact, they tend to be my fave but every once in a while I whip out a super girly look and surprise everyone, like I did on this particularly gorgeous, sunny day. Or else, maybe I was just trying to make myself feel better about having to go to the doctor to get my blood drawn–where I was then called 'Barbie', a 'doll' and had about 8 people tell me they loved my shoes, ha!

Struttin' in Stripes & Ripped Jeans

I am pretty positive that stripes are taking over my closet. Black and white, blue and white, pink and white...this girl loves a good stripe. Let's be honest though, this isn't something new for me. I have always had a love for striped pieces, but I've totally taken it up a notch this spring.

Midwest Young & Restless

Young & restless.

Besides being a Kanye West lyric, this t-shirt is actually pretty fitting for me–although, saying I'm young is debatable since I just turned 30 (may my 20s rest in peace). I find myself wanting more and more and down time is just a thing of the past. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying new things, reading more, learning more, traveling more, taking on more me restless, but I just can't help but want to fill my life with all that I can, especially while I'm still young(ish).

Hoosier Proud: At Home in Indiana

Growing up in the Hoosier state you've become accustomed to the inevitable questions of life: What is a Hoosier? Do you like basketball? Listen, this girl does not have a wicked jump shot, nor can I really even describe to you what a Hoosier is (since no one seems to know the exact origin), but one thing's for certain, I'm proud to be a down to earth, Midwestern girl.

Some Sort of Sailor

Off. the. shoulder. tops.

Over the weekend I was told by someone that they hated off-the-shoulder tops and wanted to know if I actually liked them. The kicker? I was wearing one. Good times.

But I, for one, can't get enough of them! Who couldn't like this one from Chicwish with lace and bow ties? I like to think that if my friendly fashion hater had seen this one, she would have changed her mind. Yeah...I think she would.

Denim Jacket Classic

I'd love to say that blogging is easy, but that would be a total lie. You're in a constant race to scour the internet for the perfect makings of a trendy outfit that matches your style, scout a perfect location to shoot photos of that outfit, edit the photos and then throw a post together–all at rapid pace. Sound familiar to anyone? Let's just say, I haven't been in the scrambling mood and our blog has totally suffered for it.

Kiehl's Comes to Indianapolis

What's better than good skincare? Trick question. When it comes to beauty, there is nothing better than good skincare. Taking proper care of your skin is the foundation to any makeup routine and can make or break your look. As you can see, we take our skincare seriously and were very excited to have been invited to the grand opening of Kiehl's Indianapolis location at the Fashion Mall last week.

Fashion Meets Function: Aubry Lane Handbags

Guys, we have a confession...

We're huge scaredy cats. When it comes to going somewhere unfamiliar, we get anxious and often dread walking to our cars at the end of the night, which totally takes the fun out of whatever it is that we're doing. When we were contacted by handbag company, Aubry Lane, and learned about their products (and that they're headquartered literally five minutes from our office, woo hoo for Indiana innovators!), we knew this was a brand we wanted to support and share with our readers.

Spring 2017 Trend: Navy & White Stripes

April is here, the weather is finally warming up and Spring trends are emerging in a quickness. One trend I've been noticing everywhere, as I'm sure you have been too, is navy and white striped tops-typically with bell sleeves and oftentimes, off-the-shoulder. This top is no exception and includes another detail I happen to love: bows!

Lady In Leather

Does anyone have a hard time nailing down what their style actually is? One day I’m in a blazer and heels and the next I’m floating around like a walking Free People ad. I guess that’s one thing that I love about fashion. You can start each day with a blank canvas and style yourself however you want that day.

Lace With Edge

You know that super important question you get asked every day, "If you were stuck on a deserted island, what is one item you couldn't live without"? I would definitely choose my BLANKNYC faux leather jacket, legit. I mean, look at it. How could I go without? It's just. too. good.

Olive Off the Shoulder Top

I feel like I've been living in a perpetual state of fall lately. Olive green, black, peanut butter brown, white and grey are the colors of my outfits lately, and if I'm being honest, I'm totally fine with it. With our warm winter, I've been pumped to wear booties that I typical have to put away due to snow and ice. For some reason, leather soles booties just don't do me any favors as I trek across ice covered parking lots into work.

Blush & Floral

My winter wardrobe typically consists of chunky sweaters and layers and layers of fabric to make coping with bone chilling cold more bearable. Seriously, quilted vests and big blanket scarves are my part of my winter uniform on super cold days. Why do I live here?! Thankfully, this winter has been unseasonable warm in Indiana and my typical February ensemble has been completely thrown out of the window and replaced with spring-ready outfits like this one, and dare I say it, T-SHIRTS.

Suited Up

Let me tell you a story.

Imagine you drink a LOT of water throughout the day. Now imagine you wear a cute olive green bodysuit...and overalls over that...and a sweater over that. Sounding like a nightmare, right? Nope, just another Tuesday for me.

Loafers, I'm in Love

If I’m being honest, I’m more of a high heels girl for many reasons. For one, I’m short and flats typically don’t do much to lengthen my compact 5'5" frame. The second reason…well I currently am at a loss so I’ll refer back to the original point of being short. However, when a short girls runs into a pair of flats she can’t resist–like these Free People silver loafers, then you buy the shoes and wear them with pride.

Warm Shoulder

So...apparently its February?? I heard a rumor but I'm not sure its true because we've had temperatures in the high 60s for like a week now. I know global warming is a terrible thing, but I'm having trouble being mad at it these days. Maybe next week.

Little Bit of Wine

It's no secret that I love, love, love all black looks. There's just something about it that makes me feel good about myself, it just feels like me and when I switch it up and try to wear color, I almost always regret it. To switch it up, I like to incorporate color into my accessories, like these wine-colored lace up heels, bag and Kendra Scott earrings. Know what else I love, love, love? Wine. Win, win.

Shadow Days

It's no surprise to anyone that I love clothing, and I've found over the past years that my style has evolved and I'm wearing things that I normally wouldn't even have thought about trying in years past–and thank god for that because my sister playfully refers to my past clothing as "Bend it Like Beckham" style. In the words of a 21 year old free spirit, I believe she's telling me that my former style is definitely ready for revisions. Luckily, I wasn't in an exclusive relationship with that style and can change on a whim, and have for the most part.

2016 | A Regal Year in Review

You guys...we've been terrible bloggers lately. Work has been crazy and our personal lives have also been busy and blogging and social media have taken a backseat. But, our goal in 2017 is to get back on track. So, despite it being a few weeks too late, we thought we would do a recap of last year because all in all, it was an amazing year for Regally Soled!

We were so honored to work with the lovely Elise, photographer and owner of our favorite boutique, Elysian, for some super fun photo shoots...

See more of this shoot here, here and here

...including our amazing three-year blogiversary photos!
