Every year June rolls around and my calendar is jam packed with weekend trips and celebrations–including my anniversary (cheers to 6 years!) and Father's Day. With all of the weekend fun, both of those days sneak up on me and I end up scrambling to find the perfect gift. This year I'm actually planning ahead–kinda–and finding the perfect gifts for my husband and dad. Instead of opting for a gift card, I try and find unique gifts that align with the person's interests and hobbies. One place I always seem to navigate toward is Uncommon Goods. Their prices are reasonable and each of their items are unique handmade goods created by equally unique artisans and creative thinkers.
One of the best things about Uncommon Goods is their commitment to social responsibility–and that extends past their sustainable goods and straight into their integrity and mission to positively impact the world, both internal and externally. I mean honestly, how often do you see a company whose mission truly matches their products? Uncommon Goods has featured handmade, recycled, organic products since it was founded and works diligently to feature products that don't harm humans or animals–i.e. no leather, feathers or fur.
I think I've proven my point about how amazing Uncommon Good is, now it's your turn to shop for the perfect gift–trust me, with their wide variety of unique items, the perfect gift won't be hard to find. I received this amazing soup and sandwich ceramic set as a Christmas gift and I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it. Here are some of my personal favorite gift ideas for my upcoming celebrations:
1 // Personalized Gifts: Monogrammed and personalized items are so popular right now so why not incorporate those items into your Father's Day and anniversary gifting? This amazing pop art signage and stamped whiskey barrel are my personal favorites.
2 // Grilling Tools: I am super fortunate to have a mom who is phenomenal at experimenting in the kitchen with flavors and techniques. She swears these Himalayan salt BBQ blocks are versatile pieces that can be used to chill food or add enhanced flavor while you cook. Let's be honest, no guy can resist this type of BBQ tool, or these perfectly crafted hockey stick grilling tools.
3 // For the Sports Lover: In every day life, I'm surrounded by a man who lives and breathes sports. My husband grew up a 3+ sport athlete and stays extremely active still today, which is why sports themed gifts are always a hit with him. As a former college baseball player, he would seriously love to own this baseball bat rocker or one of these ballpark blueprints.
4 // Cocktail Connoisseur: Let's be honest, everyone wants to play bartender every now and again and make some killer craft cocktails. These whiskey stones work double duty chilling your drink and add an instant element of cool to your drinks. If the whiskey stones don't impress you, shower your favorite in-house bartender with a fun mixologist salt collection to spice up your brunch-time Bloody Mary's. I mean, these gifts might be considered a gift for you too. Win, win right?!
Anniversary gift, check! Father's Day gift, check! Cross a few gifts of your to-do list and check out Uncommon Goods. Unique, sustainable and budget friendly!
