Finding your stride with summer style can be tricky when you're trying to tackle chilly office temps and blazing summer heat at the same time. Since I work in an office that allows more casual attire, I can get away with a little more in terms of clothing options. Thankfully so or I probably would have not been able to wear this fabulous knotted maxi skirt to work. Did I mention this skirt, tank and chambray all totaled less than $40? Definitely a wallet win!
I've been having more fun this summer with fashion. Instead of sticking to what I'm comfortable with, I've been trying some new outfit combos that I probably wouldn't have worn in the past. For example, I bought this skirt recently at Meijer for $20 and fell in love with the knotted accent and the slit–so much so that I had to strip down a mannequin to grab the last one in my size. I had not a clue what I was going to wear with it, but I knew it had to come home with me. Fast forward a few days and I found the cutest cropped white tank at TJ Maxx for $4.99 and decided to throw a chambray on to tie it together–lots of knots happening with this outfit. I totally wasn't kidding about my outfit being only $40–minus the shoes and accessories of course.
I couldn't find the exact items to link to, but I've found some awesome affordable alternatives–including a few maxi skirts that look nearly identical to the one I'm wearing.
