The Dark Side

All fall and winter long I wore nothing but black. Lately, I've been on a color kick but those urges to go back to the dark side still seem to find me on occasion. I give you, Exhibit A. It may be a little dark for the typical spring pastel looks we're all used to seeing these days, but this lightweight camo jacket (well, I think it's actually a shirt) is perfect for the chilly weather.

Ripped & Ruffled

We've had such great weather lately (well, nearly all winter really), but last Friday was overcast and chilly so I knew layers were in order. Denim jackets are a piece that I cannot live without so naturally I started with this piece and started layering from the outermost layer in. Leave it to me to choose one random piece and create my entire look around it!

Soft & Sweet

My outfit choices are definitely leaning towards soft and sweet these days. Spring is officially here in Indiana and I'm breaking out the pastels–like this pretty rose quartz sweater I picked up at Nordstrom a few weeks ago. I totally gravitate toward sweaters and tops like this that are pretty on their own and require minimal styling. #lazystyling

Midwest Born & Raised

If you would have asked me as a teen, I would have nonchalantly told you that Indiana and I didn't mesh well and I had plans to move as soon as I graduated. Fast forward to now, and my mindset has completely changed and I'm proud to call the Midwest my home. It's so odd how priorities and goals change as you get older, but I can honestly say I'm proud Midwest born and raised and I wouldn't have it any other way. #midwestlove

Sprinkles & Bows

*I apologize in advance for these kind of terrible pictures. You can blame the wind that prevented me from stepping away from this sheltered brick wall. :)

It's no secret that I have a thing for donuts. And it's not that I love to eat them (which I mean, I guess I do) - I just think they're soooo stinkin' cute! Jaime, knowing this fact, got me this adorable donut tee shirt from ILY Couture (sorry, it's no longer available!) last year for my birthday.

Sounds Like Spring

All earbuds are built alike, right? Nope, completely wrong. In my quest to find the perfect earbuds, I have come across quite a few that have been terrible–unless you like listening to music that sounds like it's being broadcasted from a tin can. If that's your cup of tea, don't try Sudio Sweden earbuds. I am definitely not an expert on sound quality, but Sudio earbuds are top notch in terms of balanced sound and sleek minimal design.

Initial Reaction

Monograms are everywhere these days and I just so happen to love it. I'm lucky enough to have my first & last name initials spell my name when combined - Kacie becomes KC. Cool, huh? So when Onecklace sent me this gorgeous two letter monogram necklace I was beyond excited! This is my first monogram piece and I've barely taken it off.

Hop Ahead to Easter

From beautiful frocks to airy ensembles, Easter fashion is all about pastel colors and a fresh spring attitude. With the holiday just around the corner, this girl is already plotting her outfit. In our typical laidback fashion, we celebrate the holiday by brunching and this ensemble totally fits with my Easter plans. Dressed up, yet comfortable and plenty of "room" for delicious brunch foods.

Now You See Me

Would you have guessed by looking this picture that just 5 minutes before, I went crashing to the ground, twisting my ankle and scraping my knee and elbow, nearly blacking out for about 3 minutes? Well, that's what happened and if you look close enough you can see the scrapes on my elbow and the dirt and blood on my left leg. Fun, right?

Initial(ly) Chic

This girl has always loved monogrammed items. I chock it up to my mom having a giant, cozy down comforter with her initials embroidered on it when I was little–that's definitely when the love began, and it's only grown since then. Monogrammed pieces are just a classic way to show your personal style and make your mark. Style expert Glen O'Brien said it best, "It’s your name boiled down to the essence, executed with graphic artistry."

Spring Training

I've always enjoyed playing dress up–even as an adult. From Disney princess costumes to my dance costumes, I loved getting to play and accessorize as a child, and that definitely hasn't changed as I've become an adult. It's actually only gotten better! The one thing I love about fashion is that you're not locked in to one particular look. You can dress however you want and wear whatever makes you happy. Recently I got to play dress up at Elysian Co, and had the opportunity to step out of my closet and into fresh spring style. Seriously, ah-mazing!

Regal Outing: Eat, Drink, Nada Indy

Aside from clothes, shoes and accessories, there are three other things that we are quite serious about: chips, guac and margaritas. So when the lovely folks at Nada invited us to the VIP preview party for their Indianapolis location prior to its opening, we jumped at the opportunity.

The space is absolutely gorgeous! Despite its prominent Mexican influences, the interior also has a very NYC feel - warm, cozy and super posh! The attention to detail in the fabrics, tiles and wallpaper is absolutely beautiful and unlike anything else the Circle City has to offer. Being the two fashion-loving girls that we are, we were instantly infatuated!

New Spring Beauty

Did anyone else sing this post title to the tune of Bubba Sparxx's 'Ms. New Booty'? No? Just me? Fine! Regardless, I'm super excited about some new products (available at none other than the fabulous Meijer) that I'm adding to my beauty arsenal and can't wait to tell you about them!

Have I ever told you how much I hate waking up early for work each morning? When I'm too lazy to wash my face before work, this magic potion, AKA Garnier Micellar Water, gently wipes away dirt and oil prior to my makeup application - and it's ah-mazing! Bonus: it can even be used as a makeup remover!

Bird of Paradise

I'm not going to lie, if our winters could be like this every year, I wouldn't be mad at it. The warmer days have me totally ready for spring so naturally this tropical, floral zippered jacket from Romwe (c/o) was calling my name. When we got invited to a VIP preview party for Nada, a new Mexican restaurant opening here in Indy, I knew it was the perfect time to give 'er some wear! #Festive

Life in Neutral

I'm not sure which I love more, the girl who took these beautiful photos OR her amazing boutique filled with the best selection of clothing, candles and home decor. I could easily cozy up and be right at home in Elysian Co–which I did in fact do at one point of time, I couldn't help it. The colorful pillows were totally calling my name!
