And I'm back in black...so much for the bright spell seen in 'Winter Brights'. What can I say, sometimes a girl just needs a straight up monochromatic look to make her day. I've always been a big fan of a blacked out look and totally trace that back to my days of retail in college where it was easier to don blacked out looks that helped me avoid looking like a total dirtball after my shift. Till this day I'm still not one to discount a good black on black look because it's anything but basic.
One thing I love about this outfit is it could easily transition from work to play by adding a simple pair of heels, but since I felt like I was wearing straight up pajamas all day, the only place I was headed was to my couch to catch up on my DVR'd shows. Yep, I'm that cool. I decided that I had to have this cozy Free People sweater after Christmas and it was totally worth the amount of time I had to spend searching for it. It's stretchy, warm and super flattering–all prerequisites for my winter wear (best of all it's on sale!) I may feel like I'm wearing pajamas but my sparkling statement necklace from my most recent Rocksbox and an armful of David Yurman bracelets dressed this look up and made me work-ready. Done and done!

Thanks Abby! Necklaces definitely brighten up any look, but this one helped dress up the monochromatic palette.
DeleteThe statement jewellery that you added to this outfit is perfect!

Thanks girl! I LOVE statement jewelry and probably wear it way too often, but it's SO pretty that I can't stay away. Ha!
DeleteHow fun are those shoes? I love them! Thanks for linking up with me at Momfluence yesterday. Have a great week, doll!
ReplyDeleteSO fun is definitely the answer to that question. I found them in the clearance section at DSW–for shame! They definitely had to come home with me.
DeleteClassy and simple at the same time, you pulled off the all black well.

Thanks Rachel! It's such an easy style for me to wear because I wore all black for years while working in retail.
