Back from my movie tangent–I always have the hardest time putting together outfits for holiday parties and events. I always end up going one of two ways–either looking like a sparkling Christmas ornament or Mrs. Claus. I can't lie, I did love my sequin gold dress one year, but I looked like the only thing missing was an ornament hanger. This year, I've opted to tone down the holiday cheer for a more understated look of silver and black. Earlier this summer, I wore this culotte jumpsuit and fell in love with the flow and silhouette of the entire look. Fast forward to Christmas, and I knew that I could repurpose this jumpsuit to create a holiday look. This suede and silver origami jacket from Lysse was the perfect finishing touch to this jumpsuit. It totally fits my love for glitz during this festive season without going over the top. Add in a red monogrammed clutch–like this one from Mark & Graham–for a pop of color and ta-da! Holiday ready ladies!
PS - I was going to call this look 'Hippopotamus for Christmas', but Kacie wouldn't let me for multiple reasons–1) apparently calling yourself a hippopotamus isn't "flattering"; 2) it's a super old Christmas song that immediately popped in my head when I was thinking of titles. Cheers!
