Senator's Daughter

I totally wanted to pat myself on the back this morning for this outfit composition after my recent fashion slump. #slowclap I finally feel like I'm getting back on track and my inspiration is back! Now to explain what this title means because I am by no means a senator's daughter...

Total cliffhanger waiting for the story, huh? No? Cool, here it is anyways–after setting my purse and millions of bags down at my desk, I mix up my protein and head over to chat with two of my fave co-workers and the one immediately comments that I look like a senator's daughter that's headed out to do some riding today. I immediately start laughing because that is a totally accurate description of this look. A little pretentious, a little country club...let's just say I love it nonetheless. I totally feel comfortable and like myself in these classic fall staples, even on a rainy day. Also, how could you not love this quilted vest from J.Crew?! I have a feeling this guy, and it's equally adorable friends currently residing in my closet, are going to be very good friends this winter.

Since our Thanksgiving is more low key, I'll definitely be rocking this look again for turkey day and maybe a variation while I shop on Black Friday. I shamefully love the crowds and chaos, but hate the parking situation. I'm lucky my husband and father-in-law will happily drop my mother-in-law and I off to shop the sales.

  10. This outfit definitely does have a very classic preppy American look to it so I totally get the senator's daughter vibes from it! And ultimately, even if a look might bring to mind some negative stereotypes, if it is your personal style and you feel like you in it, then keep rocking it, lady! You do you!
