Flawless Face Must-Haves

All Day Beauty

Everyone has seen those videos on YouTube where a normal, plain looking girl is transformed into the likes of supermodel. You know the ones I'm talking about–full lips, lashes for days, contour on point. This transformation is amazing, but I'm not really in the market for 70 layers of makeup and a 45 minute beauty routine every day. Who's with me?

I will be the first one to tell you that I have some insecurities when it comes to my skin, #thankspsoriais. Some days I'm super red and patchy, other days my skin is okay, but I definitely make sure to back up my makeup routine with excellent skincare which is the best foundation for beautiful skin. Here is a roundup of some of my current favorites:
  • Too Faced Born this Way Foundation in Warm Nude: Seriously life changing. This creates a flawless canvas for your to contour and really helps cover any patchy redness I may have. It also is packed with coconut water to replenish moisture levels; alpine rose to brighten and promote elasticity; and hyaluronic acid for a smoother appearance. #yesplease
  • Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush: I thought I had a good foundation brush until I was introduced to this baby. The bristles are soft and packed tightly to give you a great full coverage look.
  • Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Medium to Deep: This seriously smells like chocolate and the acts as the perfect matte bronzer for contouring.
  • Tarte Bamboo Contour Brush: This double-ended wonder is used with my bronzer for contouring purposes. I know other bloggers recommend the NARS contouring brush, but this guy is my personal favorite. The two ends make sculpting and blending SO easy.
  • NARS Blush in Orgasm: If the name alone doesn't drag you in, the peachy-pink shimmer will. I've found that this hue is universally flattering on all skin shades so that's a definite win!
  • Too Face Candlelight Glow Highlight Powder: This is hands down one of the best highlighters I've used. Totally illuminating!
  • Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder: I used to think this was a completely unnecessary step, but a setting powder really helps set your makeup and finish off that flawless look. Give this one a while, you'll thank me later.
  • NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto: This eyeliner goes on smooth and is definitely a long wear liner!
  • Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: The right mascara and totally finish off your eyes and create sultry, full lashes without wearies falsies and this mascara does the trick. It's a bit pricey but you'll love it, I promise.
I should also note that I have perpetually dry skin on top of my psoriasis that is constantly over oily and the Too Faced Born this Way Foundation has helped to properly hydrate it. Thanks to the lovely coconut water concoction in the foundation, my face isn't nearly as oily as it used to be! #ThanksTooFaced

    1. I hate when that happens, especially when you are debating about switching to a new product. I always like to switch like 3/4 of the way through so I can have a back up if I hate the new product. You'll love the bronzer!

  5. Thanks for these tips! Im always looking for new products to try, I also like the IT Cosmetics under eye corrector and Tarte's BB cream for days I don't need a full-coverage foundation.

    1. I'll have to try the under eye corrector! BB cream is amazing, but doesn't seem to cover my red spots, so full coverage foundation it is for this girl. Thanks for stopping by Christina!

    1. It's so true! Seriously, where does the time go in the morning!? I'd love to do pretty eye makeup each day, but I'm literally down to mascara and eyeliner as I run out the door. Ha!

    1. I really think even if you don't wear makeup that this would be a great staple foundation for the times when you want to. It's just amazing! I'd even wear it alone without the bronzer and blush.

    1. Do it! I swear you won't be disappointed. It provides such great coverage and it's super hydrating. I used to think I had oily skin, but after trying a mix of products I realized my skin was lacking the hydration it needed and over producing oil. I'm all about keep my skin in check now. Thanks for stopping by Jacqueline!

    1. It's a great blush! It's super versatile and I can use it when I'm tan and pale, so it's a great one to have in your beauty arsenal. That contouring brush was a lifesaver and has totally upped my contour game.

  12. I have issues with psoriasis too (on my forehead) so wearing a foundation is always a nightmare! Thankfully it's doing ok now after trying out a new ointment! I picked the Born this Way foundation the other day and thought that the hydrating properties along with the (usually ) hydrating primer that I use will help with those patches!

    1. It's nice to know I'm not alone with the challenges of psoriasis! It's such a pain in the winter as the weather cools down. I have psoriasis on my elbows and small patches on both of my hands and I've found that Frank coffee body scrub totally has helped, along with my prescribed medication. It's definitely worth a shot and I've totally used it on my face, too. :) Hopefully this helps and that you enjoy the Too Faced foundation.
