About Midwest Fashion Week

Started in Indianapolis in 2006 by Catou fashion designer Berny Martin, Midwest Fashion Week is a week-long series of fashion-related events taking place each spring and fall season. The runway shows give student and up-and-coming designers a platform to share their designs and gain pertinent experience that they need to advance their career in fashion.

While fashion is the main focus of these events, Midwest Fashion Week ties together all of the components of the local fashion industry such as modeling, photography, beauty, music, art, food and more. In addition, the production also incorporates charitable partners who not only have the opportunity to share their mission with attendees, but who also gain from event proceeds. How cool is that?!

What's Happening in Spring 2015

This season's events kick off in Indianapolis this Saturday and continue throughout the entire week. Jaime and will be in attendance at a few shows so stay tuned for full event coverage! You can get more information on the week's events and buy tickets on the Midwest Fashion Week website.

Making the Most of Your Experience

In order to have the best experience possible, here are a few quick tips for attendees:
  • Purchase tickets in advance. The ticket line can get pretty long so purchasing your tickets in advance is a great idea. Get ticket information at MidwestFashionWeek.com.
  • Arrive early. Getting there when the doors open will give you ample time to mingle and be sure to keep an eye out for local celebrities - they're always in attendance!
  • Don't forget cash for parking, drinks and shopping with vendors.
  • Bring a camera or be sure your phone is fully charged to snap photos on the media wall, selfies, and photos of your favorite collections.
  • Keep an open mind! Even if the designs showcased aren't your style, appreciate the designer's work and draw inspiration where you can!
If you're not a local, you can apply these tips to your local fashion week events. Not sure if your area has a local Fashion Week? You'd be surprised! Do a quick internet search to see what's happening in a city near you!
