Windblown Warrior

Dear Fellow Style Bloggers,

Can I please ask you a serious question?

Is it never windy where you live?? Jaime and I just can't understand how everyone else takes these perfect pictures outside - year round. We pretty much look like windblown messes with our hair and clothes floating about as if we're in a hurricane. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

Dress: Impressions Boutique (similar) | Jacket: Old Navy | Leggings: Groopdealz | Boots: Madden Girl | Necklace: Etsy | Bracelet: Forever 21 | Bracelet: Groopdealz

Okay, I'm done pouting.

So anyway, I bought this adorable belted plaid dress from one of my very favorite boutiques called Impressions back in August and I've been hoarding it for a perfect Fall day. That day was yesterday, my friends. Despite the hellacious wind, Jaime and I trespassed once more to take these photos at our favorite local barn. Since it was a bit chilly, I threw on fleece lined leggings, boots and my go-to field jacket and the look was complete!

Don't forget about our amazing giveaway in which one winner will receive a Kate Spade handbag and wallet as well as $100 gift cards for both Target and Nordstrom! Enter using the rafflecopter widget below!

  1. This is too funny, because I feel like I'm always fighting the wind, too! There's lot of, "Ohhh, wait- wait- okay, go." when I shoot. Ha!

    Looking super cute, girlfriend!

    1. Thanks, Ashley! It's absolutely ridiculous. We decided yesterday that the months of July and August are the only months where there are not hurricane winds here in Indy. But, somehow these pics turned out fairly well!

  2. Oh my, I can totally relate - a ton of my pictures look like my hair is swept up in a whirlwind. I am not sure how some bloggers master the "perfect" shot. I think the windy (flat) midwest is to blame.

    Your pictures look great!

  3. Mum did you see my most recent post?! It's always so windy here in Oklahoma. My strategy is to make sure it comes from behind me so that it blows my hair a little forward instead of plastered back and looking strange. You never look like a wind blown mess. I love these colors on you, especially with the background. It brings out your gorgeous hair and eyes.

  4. Hahah almost all of my photos are taken inside, JUST because the wind seems to ruin everything. Usually, I end up looking like a complete mess whenever I have an outdoor photo taken. Great outfit by the way!
I actually nominated you for the Liebster award, so feel free to check out my blog, http://forsevenseasons.wordpress.com, for instructions if you'd like to participate!

  7. Perfect over-sized plaid top! It is always windy where I live...I literally live in the NM mountain wind tunnel. A good portion of my pictures have me wind blown....Booooo! Between waiting for good lighting and the wind to pass I just can't seem to win.

  17. Okay about the wind... I had to shoot an outfit two different days because I ran out of daylight the first time trying to get good shots without the wind! It's been absolutely ridiculous lately I feel like. But you look gorgeous and so polished here, and I love your outfit!
