We left after work on Friday evening and headed to dinner at Tumbleweed on the Waterfront - Mexican food is our absolute fave and the view was amazing! After dinner we checked into The Galt House and turned in early. Saturday morning we headed to breakfast before spending the entire day laying in the sun at the rooftop pool...something I've been dying to do all summer!
For dinner, we had reservations at RIVUE, the hotel's revolving rooftop restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the views were gorgeous - you can expect to see this evening's beautiful dress featured later this week! After dinner we changed (remember my kimono look?) and headed to 4th Street Live for drinks at Howl At The Moon. We had a blast!
Sunday morning we checked out of the hotel and headed one hour south to Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo where we took a cave tour, walked among peacocks and other animals native to Australia, and even had the opportunity to pet a kangaroo!
All in all, it was a perfect weekend! We rarely get chances to get away together and I can't wait for our next adventure!

This looks like it was such a fun trip! That restaurant sounds like it was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, we had a blast! Not sure we'll get a vacation this year so it was nice to get away, even if it was just to Kentucky :)
DeleteJust stopping by to say G'day from Australia (little island state of Tasmania actually). Glad you enjoyed meeting some of our native and not so native animals (peacocks were introduced long ago and are quite widespread). Kangaroos are funny creatures and their fur is soooo soft. Your outfits were very sweet too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by our blog, Lisa! Yes, kangaroos are super soft and I loved the peacocks! They also had dingos, New Guinea singing dogs and grey kangaroos (they were huge!) but of course we couldn't get as close to them :)
