Hello, Alamo!

Look Features – Top: Anthropologie | Capris: Joe's Jeans | Flip Flops: Old Navy {old} | Sunglasses: Burberry | Purse: Michael Kors

I love exploring new places and dragging myself out of my element, so naturally I enjoy traveling and checking out not only that city’s fun shops, but also historical aspects I’ve read about. Let me start of by saying that June was absolutely crazy! It began with my sister’s high school graduation on a Friday and then transitioned into my husband and I’s four year anniversary that Sunday, which also coincided with a work trip to San Antonio that same day to attend a conference on behalf of the company I work for. Whew! All in a weeks work I guess!

The conference I was attending kicked off with a networking reception that Sunday–and BONUS my luggage was lost in the transition from Houston to San Antonio, so I had to find something to wear quickly. I stumbled across a cute and affordable store called Papaya and was able to put together a cute outfit that I will definitely wear again. So things work out for the best because my luggage was found and back to me an hour before the networking reception.

While attending the conference we had some free time to explore the city before flying out the next afternoon. The hotel we stayed at was directly on the famed San Antonio River Walk, so we took to exploring that first. The sprawling river walk cuts right through downtown San Antonio and I couldn’t get over how pretty it was! It reminded me vaguely of Venice with the buildings and shops lining the river.

After taking in the sights of the River Walk we headed to the Alamo to check out one of history’s most recognizable settings. “Remember the Alamo!” Completely kidding. I couldn’t remember the story from U.S. History class either, but after reading more about it, the story was very cool and I definitely recommend checking it out if you ever find yourself in San Antonio.

Enjoy the pics from my adventure! I'd love to hear all about your upcoming trips. What cities are you planning on visiting this summer?

    1. Oh my gosh, you should have seen my face when the airline said that was the last of the baggage on our flight. So I, along with about 17 others, trudged over to the customer service counter to start the fun process of finding my bag. It all ended up working out, and I got a travel voucher too. :) Thanks for stopping by Ashley!

  2. Wow congrats on your sister's graduation (I just graduated too!) and your 4 year anniversary. Your time and pictures here look absolutely lovely, especially the bit that reminded you of Venice. At the beach, there are little river neighborhoods that you can travel to different houses by boat and this reminded me of that! I would love to live in a house where there are river roads:) Anyway, thank you for sharing!
