Boom, Clap the Sound in my Heart

In my book, July has three very important dates–Independence Day, my sister's birthday and my birthday. The month starts out with a bang each year as I spend the 4th of July holiday with my family for a little sun, fun and of course fireworks on Lake Tippecanoe. My mom sister and I suddenly turn into little kids and sit atop the hill at the country club, eagerly awaiting the time for fireworks to start. You'll find us oohing and ahhing at every firework shot off, swearing that that firework was better than the last. Totally silly, but I love it none the less! Thankfully this year's holiday fell on a Friday, so I was able to have the full day off to enjoy a long weekend with two of my favorite people. Check out my pictures from this past holiday weekend: (P.S. - a big thanks to my sister for getting the Charlie XCX song "Boom Clap" stuck in my head. It's officially become my weekend theme song.)

My sister & I!
...and now for the grand finale!

The last picture was totally blurry, but I'm kinda in love with it. The finale was pretty spectacular and literally took over the sky. Hopefully each of you had a great holiday weekend!

    1. Thanks Haley! I wish they would have turned out better, but alas the iPhone can only take so-so photos in the dark. Ha!
