Glam & Girly Gingham | Part 1

 Jaime's Look Features: Top: J.Crew {old} | Skirt: Banana Republic {old} | Shoes: Tory Burch | Necklace: Jane.com | Bracelet: Alisa Michelle

Glam girly gingham, say that three times fast! While I've always been a fan of button-up shirts, I still always felt slightly masculine in them, even more so when the pattern slightly resembles the material one dines on at outdoor picnics. However, I decided to branch out and don a lime green gingham top and brightly colored necklace for today's look. This top pairs perfectly with so many different styles, but for today I choose a white skirt and my lace Tory Burch wedges. Overall I'd say a winning look for a sunny day! Stay tuned for more ways to style a gingham top.

Tropical Delight

 Jaime's Look Features–T-shirt: Anthropologie | Pants: Old Navy | Wedges: Target | Scarf: {old} | Bracelet: David Yurman | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklace: {old, purchased in Rome}

Ever since I got back from the islands, I've been drawn to bright pops of color. From bright pinks to oranges and citrus hues, I've been clamoring to get my hands on more of these items whether they are skirts, tanks, shirts or accessories. For this outfit, I paired my super comfy Bordeaux t-shirt from Anthropologie with a brightly colored, aztec-inspired scarf. The bright colors complimented each other so well! I finished off this look by adding my Old Navy zippered pocket skinnies and espadrille wedges. Enjoy this look!

{P.S. – Please excuse the blurry photos. The weather in Indiana has NOT been kind for outdoor photos. Ha! Wind, rain, more wind, you get the drift.}

Pretty In Pink

Top (old) | Jacket (similar) | Jeans (similar) | Heels | Necklace

Have I ever told you how much I love hot pink? It doesn't matter what it is, if it's hot pink, I'll probably love it. When I came across this military jacket at The Rage Boutique, I knew I had to have it! It's a thick, durable material that has the perfect amount of stretch and I love the way it dressed up destroyed denim and paired perfectly with a crystal necklace.

What colors are you craving this spring/summer?

Must-Have Makeup for Spring

Each spring, I shrug off layers of winter makeup and opt for a minimalized look that gives the illusion of the perfect springtime glow. Check out my favorites below:

Springtime Glow

One // Clinique Chubby Stick: While new to the lipstick crayon trend, I am in love with its ease of use. The color is vibrant and its so easy to apply, but still feels like you’re putting on a chapstick instead of a lipstick. What’s the color I love you ask? Plushest Punch–which provides the perfect raspberry pink tone.

Two // Marc Jacobs Perfection Powder – Featherweight Foundation: I was a Bare Essentials girl through and through, until I found this. The powder is amazing, almost gel-like, and it covers very well, almost eliminating the need for a concealer and that my friends is a miracle. Any girl with facial psoriasis can tell you that eliminating redness and concealing spots is a MUST and this foundation works perfectly for me.

Three & Four // NARS Bronzer & Blush: For years, NARS had been my go-to line for blush and bronzer. The range of colors are perfect for all skin tones and I love the subtle shimmer that some of the blushes contain. I find that the bronzer color Laguna works best with my skin tone and I switch back and forth between the Orgasm and Desire blush colors, and even mix the two at times.

Five // e.l.f. High Definition Powder: Okay this product is a must-have for me. I use it in place of a setting powder and it works to hide imperfections and create a flawless look. Overall a great product and for $6.00 at Target, its a steal.

Six // Benefit They’re Real Mascara: I’ve tried lots and lots of mascara in my day and this one by far might be my favorite. I have long eyelashes to begin with, so my mascara search usually starts in the volumizing section. This one creates the most gorgeous, fluttery lashes. Give it a try, I swear you’ll love it.

Seven // Anastasia Beverly Hills Go Brow Kit: Filling in my brows has become a HUGE thing for me. Not only do your brows look more defined, but they look fuller and, well prettier for lack of better words. It’s super simple to do and just takes a little time to get the hang of it, but once you do it helps finish off your makeup look.

Eight // Benefit Watt’s Up!: I typically lean toward powder highlighters just because I feel there is less room for error, but this particular highlighter makes your skin glow and provides just enough subtle sheen to stand out, while still being easy to apply. It definitely helps me achieve a glow that I wouldn't normally have without it.

Not-So Valentino

Top | Jeans | Shoes | Necklace (old) | Bracelet (old) | Michael Kors Watch (similar) | Lips

I have been literally dying to have a pair of Valentino Rockstuds for about a year now. Of course, I cannot afford said shoes so I've also been searching for a pair of lookalikes. I was beyond thrilled to find these a few weeks ago and had to wear them right away. And by right away I mean two weeks after they arrived from China - I have no shame. Know what else I'm loving? Neon! This adorable necklace and bright Michael Kors watch added the perfect Spring touch to my look.

A "Punch" of Bold Pattern

Jaime's Look Features: Top: Express | Pants: Anthropologie | Shoes: BCBG {Old} | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: David Yurman | Necklace: Ily Couture
As many of you know Kacie and I work at the same company, in fact we work on the same team….in the same office, aka the beige box as we lovingly call it. Therefore we have plenty of time for work and blog strategizing throughout the day. After all, we’re only a chair turn away from each other.

While we both have a fierce love for all things fashion, we are also marketers that are constantly looking for ways to hone our skills and learn from our peers. After all, why re-invent the wheel when there are so many talented and inspirational people in our field who are willing to share best practices, tips and advice. So when we had the chance to attend an American Marketing Association (AMA) luncheon that focused on branding, we jumped at the opportunity–and of course had fun dressing up for the event.

The second I saw these pants at Anthropologie, I knew they needed to be in my closet. These boldly patterned ankle pants paired perfectly with the "punchy" hue of my top. Finished off with a pair of d'orsay heels and a statement necklace, this look gave me that opportunity to take my wardrobe up a notch for the day.

Hemlock Stripes & Lace

Jaime's Look Features – Blazer: Free People {Old} | Tank: Express {Old} | Jeans: Hudsons | Shoes: Tory Burch | Bracelet: Alisa Michelle | Necklace: J. Crew {Similar Here} | Sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a sucker for stripes, and while I covet black and white stripes, I consider myself an equal opportunity stripe lover. I've had this blazer for quite a few years and I still am in love with it. The subtle striping of hemlock and white is perfect for Spring, and the ruffled detailing never goes out of style. Or is that just me who always loves ruffles?

I paired it with a simple lace tank and cuffed skinnies. The look was complete with the addition of Tory Burch lace wedges. While they still need a little breaking-in (Yikes to the rubbing on my heels!) they are quickly becoming my go-to wedges for the upcoming summer season.

The Apple of My Eyelet

Top (old) | Jacket (old) | Jeans | Shoes | Sunglasses | Bracelet | Earrings

I think winter is finally over...I think. We've reached the 80s, friends, and that is okay with me! With all the ups and downs, layering has been a must and I was excited to pull this coral boyfriend blazer out of the back of my closet and give her a whirl. It went perfect with this white and gold eyelet top (courtesy of Jaime's gorgeous sister) and mint accessories. I'm also in love with these sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse! They have amazingly affordable designer-inspired sunnies and the quality is great!

Moving Day!

As I mentioned in my last post, my husband and I just purchased our first home a few weeks ago. Last weekend was the dreaded-yet-exciting moving day. While we're currently doing some serious remodeling, I couldn't be more thrilled to put our days of apartment living behind us!

This cute and casual outfit was perfect for moving day! I found the shirt at JC Penney, and with a coupon I had, it was only $8! Add destroyed denim, black and white Converse, and a bright lip and I was ready to go!

Please excuse the mess that is my hair. Adjusting to "well water" has been quite an experience! On a side note, this is my first foray with a crop top (since high school). I can't wait to try some dressier pieces with a high waist. Stay tuned...

Borrowing from the Boys: Panama Hats & Blazers

Jaime's Look Features – Top: Anthropologie | Blazer: Anthropologie {Old} | Jeans: Express | Wedges: Target {Old, Similar here} | Necklace: Betsey Johnson {Old} | Hat: Target {Similar here}

Everywhere I turn, I see girls and guys wearing stylish panama hats. I love how this look can be translated into both men's and women’s styles, so naturally I had to try it out. While my version of the panama hat includes an adorable bow, it still exudes that menswear-inspired look that graces the trend forecasts for Spring 2014.

I paired the panama hat with a stylish indigo striped blazer, a high-low jersey top from Anthropologie, adorable distressed boyfriend jeans and black espadrille wedges. I finished this look off with some fun jewelry, included a bracelet that was my grandmother’s and a fun ballerina Betsey Johnson necklace. Wa-la! Done and done, my friends!

Enjoy this truly “borrowed from the boys” look!
