Regal Outfit of the Day | Crystal and Kitty Cats

So, if you know me at all, you know how much I love cats! I was super excited to find this top during a recent shopping trip to the Keystone Fashion Mall. Last friday was extra chilly and I wanted to be warm and comfy; this is what I came up with. Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn’t get outside for photos. Jaime snapped these in our office, also known as "the beige box".

I'm looking forward to a super short week, Thanksgiving spent with family, and lots of shopping! Stay tuned for a peek at our holiday decor and some great gift guides!

Regal Holidays ‘13 | A Very ‘Jaime’ Thanksgiving

I can honestly say this year has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was lazily lounging in the summer sun and now we’ve already had our first bout of snow flurries, which signifies the signs of an approaching winter in Indiana. While I shudder at the thought of snow approaching, I love the holiday season! From Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Years, I look forward to this “season” all year long. Starting right about now, I have holiday style on the brain and I’m constantly looking for the perfect ensembles and pieces to add to my holiday arsenal. After all, you have to look stylish while stuffing yourself with yummy foods on the holidays! Check out my go-to look for Thanksgiving below:

Regal Holidays | Jaime's Thanksgiving Outfit

Alright, alright as you can see I love the girly, warm elements of the Henri Bendel statement necklace and the Marc Jacobs gold watch paired with black skinny jeans, a wine colored peplum top and a flowing waterfall cardigan. This outfit is super versatile and can be dressed up or down. I’ve chosen to finish it off with Sam Edelman riding boots and a Michael Kors Hamilton handbag. Très Chic!

While style is always on my mind, I also am a girl who isn’t shy about her love for food. From sweet to savory, Thanksgiving is a time for fun foods and family. One of my most favorite Thanksgiving dishes is candied sweet potatoes. They literally complete the meal and add a little sweetness that compliments the salty turkey. Below is a link to my favorite sweet potato recipe (click the photo for the recipe):

In addition to all the delicious food, I have always loved the idea of a signature holiday drink. I can’t wait to try this over the holidays as I have a major love of sangria! Bonus that it’s super simple to make and only takes the following ingredients:
  • Grab a pitcher and start with a bottle of Pinot Grigio
  • Add to that a few cups of apple cider, some club soda, and a little bit of bourbon for the warm fuzzies
  • Stir it up and taste! If you want it sweeter, whisk a little maple syrup into a small amount of apple cider then stir that in
  • Lastly, slice some apples and drop them in with cinnamon sticks and voila, your drink is ready to be chilled!

With all that said, what outfits and foods are you most excited for this coming holiday season? Don’t forget to also check out Kacie’s Thanksgiving style too for more holiday inspiration!

Regal Holidays '13 | A Very 'Kacie' Thanksgiving

It’s hard to believe that the holidays are nearly here! Of course, this is not said in disappointment –– I absolutely love this time of year! Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and just be together, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done in style. From the tablescape to the food and my attire, style is something that’s always on my mind. Take a look at my perfect Thanksgiving look, with a favorite holiday recipe and craft idea to follow.

Thanksgiving Threads

As you’ve probably noticed by now, I look the perfect mix of femininity and edge, and this outfit captures that perfectly. Lately I’ve had a slight infatuation with ILY Couture. Case in point: this adorable Wifey tee and Crystal Botanica necklace. Add a chunky sweater, black skinnies and these suede Steve Madden Vilocity booties and voila –– perfect Thanksgiving look achieved!

Every year Jarrod, my brother and I gather at my parents’ house for dinner, parade-watching and football games. Every year I look forward to my mom’s mashed potatoes and of course, Watergate Salad. It’s totally not a wintery dessert, but has been a part of our holidays since forever. Nevermind the fact that I try and hide the walnuts every year so that my mom won’t put them in, it’s still delicious!

Now for the crafting...Lauren Conrad recently shared these DIY glittery leaves. So cute! While these look to be real leaves, unfortunately those are no longer available in the Midwest. As an alternative, you can print a leaf-shaped pattern, trace it onto thick card stock, paint on some Mod Podge and coat in brown, gold, and orange glitter. Lastly, punch a hole in them and tie with ribbon for some festively fall garland.

What are your holiday traditions, and how does your style play into them?

Regal Outfit of the Day | California Conference Chic

At the end of October we left dreary Indiana and headed to sunny San Diego for our company's annual meeting and conference. With our suit cases loaded to the brim, we were prepared for a week of well-styled yet professional ensembles. After a working weekend and a long career fair on Monday, we chose adorable skater dresses for the first full day of the conference. During one of the breaks we snuck out for a few short minutes to snap some quick photos –– and breathe in the salty ocean air! Check out our conference style in this #OOTD.

Regal Outfit of the Day | Fun with Plaid

Ever since plaid emerged on the scene as a fall trend to watch for, I was adamant that this was a trend I would be avoiding. After all, I'm from the Midwest AND a small town and the only plaid I grew up around was either a flannel in the winter or a bad look in the 90's, both looks I wasn't interested in portraying. But the closer we've gotten to chilly temps, the more open I became to incorporating the plaid look into my ensembles. I'd been seeing too many cute looks on Pinterest (a blogger's best friend) and I decided it was time to venture into the plaid unknown.

Take a look at my plaid-inspired shirt, where I added ladylike touches with patent shoes, belt and sparkly headband!
