Weekend Recap: From Baseball & Burgers to Candles & Cookouts

While I tend to be the grandmotherly type with nothing to do, I was pretty excited for a long weekend jam-packed with plans! Friday afternoon, our wonderful employer let us out of work a little early, which was good news since Jarrod and I had tickets to an Indianapolis Indians game. I still needed to determine what to wear and that is never a simple (or quick) process!

After much deliberation I opted for white corduroy shorts, a black ruched-sleeve tee, and Michael Kors flip flops. The look still needed something so I added this fun, neon chandelier necklace, cat eye sunnies, and a bun!

All in all, my first baseball game was a blast, despite the humidity and nearly being hit by a foul ball within the first five minutes. We had great seats, we won, and the post-game fireworks were quite impressive!

On Saturday morning, my mom and I headed to Centerville, Indiana to the Warm Glow Candle Company. Have you guys ever been here? I highly recommend it! The facility is enormous, filled with hand-dipped candles in delicious scents for every season -- not to mention amazingly affordable prices!

For this, I chose denim capris, a flutter sleeve cowl neck tank from Anthropologie (I’m obsessed with this army green color right now, expect to see more of it as we head into fall!), and these absolutely amazing Zigi Soho flat sandals. They’re studded and beaded! Oversized sunglasses, an Alisa Michelle inspiration cuff and beachy waves were my only accessories.

Sunday evening Jarrod and I went to dinner downtown Indy at The Weber Grill for our “kind of” anniversary. While our wedding anniversary is in June, we first started dating 11 years ago, on August 27th. Yikes, I feel old!

For this outing I went a little dressier, and extra girly! I bought this adorable dress at Charlotte Russe over a year ago but had yet to wear it. Needless to say, it was calling my name! It paired perfectly with these blush colored Moda Spana bow wedges, a jeweled heart necklace, and polka dot bow clutch.

We finished the weekend with a cookout at my parent’s house and lounging around. Now that we’ve returned to ‘regularly scheduled programming’ after a long, holiday weekend, it’s time to get back to work! The good thing? Only four days until another weekend!

So, how was your weekend, did you do anything fun?
